Luke Handsfree

Luke Handsfree's musical heritage is both long and varied. Brought up on a healthy tonic of breaks and beats, Handsfree is willing and able to turn the party out... Handsfree started his musical career as a bassist in a punk band with an 'unusual' name with a modicum of success... but it was not to be the end of his musical journey.

A fast-flourishing love of Drum'n'Bass in 1994 would introduce him to the boundless possibilities of studio-produced music. Now he counts amongst his influences Aphex Twin, Afrika Bambaataa, Jacknife Lee, Luke Vibert, Howie B, Kevin Beber, DJ Shadow, Mahler, Dj Hype... the list goes on.

He has played regularly at such varied places as Sound in Leicester Square, Herbal and Catch 22 in Shoreditch, Colour in Camden, BKB in Soho, and Faces in South West London. He has also played at the infamous Rebel Intelligence parties (including the spectacular 2000/2001 party in London Bridge).

He is known for a wide ranging attitude to his sets, mixing up 1960's Funk and Soul with Electronics with Breakbeat with Drum'n'Bass with... well, you get the idea.
